Chance Taken is punched-up pop raised on rock—having a good time, with just enough attitude. Catchy hooks, tight harmonies, and an energy that gets you buzzing.

As a band, our individual influences and styles drive our collaboration. We push each other into new, fun places of creative exploration.

Gloria Carpenter has been in the spotlight since she was 9 years old, first stepping on stage in dancing shoes, then later finding her singing voice. Gloria has been singing in bands that span genres, in venues all across the country. She lets her creative spirit soar performing and recording with original bands, including harmony-driven jam bands, country, folk, and rock acts. Gloria brought her collection of lyrics with her to Chance Taken and is the primary lyricist for the band’s debut album.

John Knighton is no stranger to the rock scene: he played his first clubs as a teenager and hasn’t looked back since. Like so many other young kids bitten early by the rock bug, John's passion for drums and rock music became a deep part of him. John mixes colors from a palette of '80s metal, hard rock, pop rock, alternative, and punk, creating a style as singular as his influences are diverse. Accepting that earning your rock 'n' roll degree lasts a lifetime, John continues to proudly share the stage with his fellow musicians and rock 'n' roll blood brothers.

Tony Morano has been playing music since grade school, taking lessons and teaching himself various instruments. Raised on rock with a healthy education in jazz & world music vibes, Tony puts it all together in a style that hits a groove of emotion, rooted in rhythm, driven by feel. Always a fan of the bass, he never tires of the expansive work of Victor Wooten, John Entwistle, Paul McCartney, Chris Squire, Rob Wasserman, and more.

Vin Vollero has been making music for more than 20 years. As a long-time member of rock-and-soul outfit Enzo and the Bakers, Vin is a juke-joint rock ’n’ roll piano player who counts Johnnie Johnson, Spooner Oldham, Chuck Leavell, and Roy Bittan among his influences. Vin has jammed with top rock and blues performers on the NY/NJ scene. More than a rocker, Vin is accomplished in many styles and on a number of instruments.

Joe Winkle picked up his first guitar as a kid and honed his playing studying Neal Schon, Eddie Van Halen, and Steve Vai, among other masters. Joe forges together emotion, speed, showmanship, and articulate playing, crafting a style that's powerful, tasteful, and altogether spectacular. Joe has brought that fire to the stage playing for more than 20 years in an array of cover bands, original lineups, and recording sessions.

Power crunch, moody atmosphere, radio pop: we mix it all into what becomes Chance Taken.
