Chanel Monique – The Early Years
Chanel Monique was born on the Gold Coast and has been studying music, dance and drama from an early age. By the time she was six years old she knew most of the songs from the famous musical Oliver and performed these songs in front of family members and friends. Chanel started modelling at a five years old and by the age of nine she was a finalist in a major modelling competition in Sydney. She studied and performed with Australian Youth Choir for five years. She has been performing on stage for most of her life.
-Teen Years
At the age of fifteen, Chanel was invited to Los Angeles where she recorded three songs with various musicians. The songs she recorded are “Louis Armstrong”, “Cry Baby Cry” and “Somedays I wish”. Whilst in the USA she learnt a lot about the life of a recording artist and enjoyed every minute. She put her very heart and soul into the recordings and the whole experience. When she returned from L.A she recorded a fourth song called ‘Clone’. For the period of 2006 she has also been heavily involved in writing her own lyrics.
