Chanova has experienced many trials and tribulations in her life. At a young age, she knew that Hip Hop was the best venue to express herself. With different influences such as Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, Lady of Rage, AZ, Rakim, KRS 1, Jay Z, Nas, De La Soul, Common, Talib Kweli and countless others Nova offers a style of Hip Hop that is hers and hers alone. With lyrics such as “You know I prove ‘em right every time I hit the mic, I give it to ‘em so hard that they be thinkin’ I’m a dyke” lyrically shows the unique style of the artist.
The music Chanova offers her listeners, words cannot began to explain. Chanova strives to give you an understanding of her devotion to becoming and remaining a survivor. She has survived many difficult situations and therefore the female emcee feels compelled to let others know that they are not alone in their struggle to survive and demonstrates this through her lyrics. Chanova feels that her lyrics not only tells her story but can also speak for many others that have experienced the same trials and tribulations in their life.
Chanova the Female Casanova also known as Novinski is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts. Chanova has performs in local clubs located in New York, Philadelphia and the Baltimore /Washington area.
