We are here to define the new sound of rock and roll for the coming years. This is a band built from years of experience in the real world of the music scene. We’re not here to tell you that our music is brilliant, melodic, or any other catch phrase you may have heard. The music will speak for it’s self. We’re here to tell you to pay attention, because this is only the beginning.

The songwriting is based after philosophical concepts stemming from Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle and how it applies to everyday life. In the nine months we’ve been together the band has already finished the writing process of what will become its first album, and has written more than half the songs for what may someday be its second EP, a concept album based on beliefs and sins. It has lyrical depth and an intellectual music structure, yet for the people only interested in it’s entertainment value it remains accessible: it’s hard rock, it’s progressive, its Chaos and Control.

Chris, Ben, and Conor were previously in a band titled “Reveal” that worked under the Underground Arts Association. They performed in the project documentary “The Seed” featuring the Netherlands Dance Theatre choreography to the music they had written and back up vocalists featured in Broadway’s “Fame”. The show was produced by Terry Fox, formally of Cirque du Soleil, and incorporated a full scale light show designed for their music to highlight the band along with dancers, contortionists, acrobatics, and additional musicians.

Chris has spent 5 years as an instructor for advanced guitar and music theory, and Conor has taught songwriting and guitar at Waupun Middle School for 2 years while giving private lessons on the side. Ben has taught numerous High School drum lines, ULL’s drum line, and private lessons as well.

Ben joined the Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps of Milwaukee at age eleven where he played bass and quads for 5 years. He moved on to the Phantom Regiment drum corps from Rockford, IL in ’94 and ’95. At 18 he joined Cadets of Bergen County as section leader on quads and received a full ride music scholarship to Jacksonville University, FL. He then transferred to University of Louisiana at Lafayette as a percussion major at 20 years old. In ’97 and ’98 he competed and placed second at Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) on multi-tenor. Ben has also toured with several top 40 cover bands across the south.

The origins of ChaosAndControl are woven between several bands that have played out anywhere between Minnesota to Illinois including “Seminis” (Chris and Casey), “Copasetic” (Chris and Conor), and “Reveal” (Ben, Chris, and Conor). After years of trial and error, experiences between different bands, and Chris meeting Tyler on the golf course; the puzzle pieces have united and fallen into place to form the perfect line up.
