Orchestral Folk that can be described as chamber music with a kick...

Biography

Chapa, an LA-based musical artist, represents the fusion of intelligent and individualistic talents into a collective that explores the less-worn paths of music, discovering new sounds and aural ideas for the public's consumption.

Chapa's music has been called a "beautifully blended mixture of classical instrumentation, modern grooves, and timeless stories" most succinctly summed up as "orchestral folk."

"Music is something that makes you feel jovial, warm, sad, hopeful, vibrant, understood and loved all at once," Chapa says, describing his passion for creating evocative, fresh sounds that defy convention. In regard to the group's experimentation, he offers this thought: "Play the music that you love to play." It's a simple secret, he believes, to creating music that sets itself apart and offers something exciting for a jaded listening community. And to keep things fun, he shares this advice: "Treat life with a smile."

A Look To The West

Written By: Chapa

A look to the West with no rising sun. A blank expression on my face that was numb. I thought I’d see my true identity, watching the children laugh in the sea. A moment came quick and with a snap I feel robbed for the surreal I went looking for was alone. So I back stepped twice until my eyes became bright with the hope that one day all this shit would seem right. I was tempted, but I didn’t run…

A girl with no name she comes dancing up the shore. I caught this Angel smiling from a distance. I’m surprised I knew I’ve seen this face before. I felt her in my dreams. Suffocating feeling, I should have known. This symbolized more than appeared. I figured my heart was broken, and like always, I felt my knees go weak. And her beauty was everywhere, laughing loud and singing one of my songs…

She said tomorrows fight will come quickly. And you can undo what’s been done, but you take too long to say what’s on your mind, and you hide behind these words you, these words you sing…

These things you say they feel not good, it’s something I. I’ve had for many centuries, as you should know for I have married you more than twice. I followed you from where I fell. In love with all of your mysterious and portions of your insanity that lives within this makeshift wall I built to hide the demons that lurked around the bend that you were kind enough to vanquish with your Love. And your beauty was everywhere, laughing loud and singing one of my Songs…

I had a dream I went walking down the shoreline by myself, and who am I to say that it didn’t happen that way…
I had a dream I went walking down the shoreline by myself, it seems to me that it comes in waves, one after another, Another…

She said tomorrows fight will come quickly. And you can undo what’s been done, but you take too long to say what’s on your mind, and you hide behind these words you sing, these words you sing… You take too Long. You hide behind. These words you sing.

This World Around You

Written By: Chapa

Radio DJ: September 22nd, and it’s a beautiful day to be in Los Angeles. 70 degrees and clear skies. Possible chance of rain on the weekend though, so get out there and enjoy the sunshine. Up next, a son’s message to a very special mom. Treat life with a Smile.

Son I said you ain’t getting no younger. This world around you may never feel the same. Take this time as much as you need. Then close your eyes to sleep. Embrace the magic from within.

Momma I know what’s been bothering you. No need to speak your peace. No need to ever feel alone. Please don’t worry about this world around me. You raised no fool and my strength I draw from you.

Son I confess this world it frights me, but I’m proud of you and the man you have become. All the same I’m not getting no younger, I pray that you find your one, and babies I’ll adore.

Momma I know it’s been 10 years. Then one day those tears will never leave your eyes. How lucky you were to have each other for many years. So many hugs goodbye. I can see you smiling. Holding one another. Answering to no one.
:
All of these years I’ve been missing the answers. From here on out I’ll hold what is true. To find my way and rejoice with laughter from the memories of ones I’ve yet to live. I can see you smiling. Holding one another. Answering to no one.

The Rains Way

Written By: Chapa

It’s the sadness that lights the dark. It’s glowing that comes from your room. It’s the curse that drives out the silence from within. It’s your poet imagination that you ponder with. It’s the background sounds of your fight to win. It’s the longing of, no more longing of, that you no longer are minding of. It’s the way that one can understand what you truly mean to say. It’s the finding of the will to be. The moments that you almost saw. Had you learned, yes, learned the way. The Rains Way.

Crossing the line from here to you. I can barely watch you breathe. Breathe in the love you share.

It’s not the sad days that you love so, or the nightmares in your head. It’s not such a blown up mystery. It’s not a warm excuse from the hated man, or a cold response from the man who said I do love you. So you’re asking, and it’s for me. When the rain begins to touch my face, I do believe it’s for me.

Crossing the line from here to you. I can barely watch you breathe. Breathe in the love you share.

You took too long to decide you’re afraid. You took too long to decide you’re not ready. Try not to take too long to decide you are a man. Cause if you take too long to decide, it’s your own ass.

The Hope Part

Written By: Chapa

It’s a fine morning in halo land. Old friend, dear friend summons me. He said say your goodbyes you see this other friend of ours he’s left this world amongst you and me. He invoked his own right to end his own life by means I’d rather not speak. He said lord only knows what our friend was thinking and I’m a lost of words you see. And I said that’s ok brother me too.

So I sit and think to myself this night. I don’t want to cry for what you gone and done. I wish I could have known to be right by your side that night. I know it’s been long since I’ve been around. Years have passed from our time but that’s all that’s gone. I wish I could have known to be right by your side. My friend I’d say to you. You were loved by more than I. I never saw this coming.

Please send help from up above. I find myself erasing memories I once loved. And Hope to never see the day precious ones in this world fade away. So I sit and think to myself this night. Then I begin to cry what I swore I wouldn’t do. I wish I could have known to be right by your side. My friend I’d say to you, you were loved by more than I. I never saw this coming.

Well maybe your right to say what you said. It’s too late we both know. I’ll complicate things more if I try explaining the wrong in this world. My time grows short I thank you my friend for lending your mind and your voice. To say to my family and few friends, I’ve moved away from this Hurt.
