Charanga is an electronic music project strongly linked to the roots of Portuguese popular culture, specifically to the national "folk". Beatboxes, synthesizers, virtual tools and globalized musical influences, along with bag pipes, violin, traditional singing, tambourines, etc are some of the tools they use to create their repertoire. A catalogue comprised mostly by original songs, complemented with variations, versions and digressions directly inspired by the melodic structures, harmonic and rhythmic folk songs both Portuguese and Galician.

They are both music and performance, Portuguese and international, modern and ancient, traditional and revolutionary, rural and cosmopolitan, analogue and digital, festive and introspective, organic and mechanical.
Line-up & instrumentation:
Rui Aires:  Vocals, Traditional percussion
Joao Cleto:  Bagpipe, vocals
Andre Neto:  Violin, back vocals
Marta Verde Baqueiro:  VJ
