"Road to Riverfest"

Charger’s roots began to form in the year 2002 when Jay Shehi and Zach Sheffield recorded "Throw Your Colors". This collaboration allowed Jay to join the band on vocals. After bassist Philip Hall and drummer Chris Sims joined the group, Prophecy was finally complete. The group played consistently for roughly two years in both Birmingham and Gadsden until they broke up in 2004. After a short break, the three high school classmates, Jay, Zach, and Philip decided to reunite and re-create their band in the city of Birmingham. The new band, now known as Charger, was accompanied by drummer Eason Franklin for the next year and a half. After Eason's short time with Charger, Chris Long has taken his place on drums, putting a new spin on the Charger originals. - The Gadsden Times

"Pick the City Stages Lineup"

The superior second coming of a high school outfit called Prophecy, Charger includes singer/pianist Jay Shehi, guitarist Zach Sheffield, bassist Philip Hall and drummer Eason franklin. The band claims u2, the Doors, the Rolling Stones and Guns 'N Roses as influences. - Birmingham Weekly
