Bio

harles Aarons is a Canadian guitarist/composer living in Mission, British Columbia. He has three successful solo instrumental CD's released on his own label Downtown Music, "Nothing Fancy Here", "Don't Fret" and and his latest release "Wood & Wire" as well as a series of popular spoken word CD's and other non-mainstream titles. Aarons started his career in 1972 in Toronto as a busy session player. Early on he discovered his writing talents and formed one of the very early Canadian recording acts, Aarons & Ackley. Two albums were produced and released with North American distribution on Capitol Records. He had successful single releases with “Where Did The Music Go” and “Lay Me Down”. Aarons continued his career as a session player in Los Angeles from 1978 until 1989. During his stint in LA, Aarons worked a busy schedule not only as a session player, but as a music supervisor for television and film, a jingle writer, and a composer for television and film. He also appeared in many television shows such as Dallas, Falcon’s Crest, Love Boat and Dynasty as well as appearances in films such as Against All Odds, Pee Wee’s Great Adventure, The Thornbirds and Byrd. Aarons currently resides in the mountain community of Mission, British Columbia with his wife Norine and their cat Ariel. He continues to write, enjoy life and teach aikido. He is available for live performances, festivals and private engagements.
