Bio
Charles Diamond is a hip-hop artist born and raised in Richmond, VA. He first started writing rhymes while a junior in high school at Saint ChristopherÂ’s, most often to instrumentals created by high school classmate Cons. His first recorded project was a mixtape entitled Summer School, produced by Franz Solo (formerly known as DJ Shake) and featuring artists C. Lo and T.D. The project was completed while all of the performers were in high school, and as such, much of both the lyricism and style is dripping with juvenile musings.
Two years later, Charles became a member of local collective Mix Breed Ent., along with Avance, KO, and T.D. Mix Breed released their debut project "Coolest in America" in January of 2012. Two videos were shot off of the tape, including "Bet You" and "Where I Am." The latter song exclusively featured Charles Diamond, and was showcased on several blogs, including Yup LSD, DeadFix, Respect This Fresh, VA Intermission, and RVA Magazine. The collective also released an EP in January entitled "Over Everything," produced by Cons and T.D.
After those two releases, Charles Diamond set to work on his first solo release, an EP entitled "Poetic Diction." This project includes the Mix Breed single "Take 'Em to Church," as well as "Check the Resume," which is featured in a video shot by NoNameNoBrain Productions. Currently, Charles Diamond is a junior at William and Mary. He is working on his next project, The Prelude, as well as creating collaborations with local artists Jo Casino and Lexo The Pharaoh from the Terrorist Posse.
