Bio

"C. Greene" is a Jazz Pianist, Keyboardist, Composer, and Producer.

This highly intuitive musician was born in Detroit and grew up on the West side, where his love affair with the piano began as soon as he could crawl up on the bench. He was steeped in the old-school gospel of the church as a child, and then spent his teen years studying the recordings of the masters of Jazz, Blues, and R&B, leading his own band (Jazz Prophets), and sneaking into the bars and lounges of the Motor City to listen and learn from the older musicians.

While in high school, he was lucky enough to meet John Coltrane and Thelonious Monk backstage at Cobo Arena in 1966.

He has toured on keyboards with several Motown acts (the Spinners, Four Tops, and Jimmy Ruffin), and also worked with Vic Damone, Richard "Groove" Holmes, Ernestine Anderson, Laura Lee, Marcus Belgrave, Jerald Daemyon, and many others.

His band performed at the Detroit International Jazz Festival in 1982 and 2002, and he was a featured artist at the Haarlem (Netherlands) Jazz Festival in 2006.

Currently, Greene is producing studio projects, playing solo, and working in Jazz, Blues, R&B, and Reggae bands.
