Bio

Lead by the diversely talented and masterful Charles Heath, four of jazz’s current best have melded together to form this amazing quartet. Like smiles on a summer day, the quartet’s positive energy is catching. With the unique ability to fuel each other through their love of performing and music the energy produced on stage easily transfers over the entire room, engulfing the individuals in the crowd’s attention; mind, body and soul.
The four talented musicians all bring a wealth of experience to the stage. Charles Heath; drummer, composer, recording artist, music director, producer and teacher, playing most recently as the lead drummer for the tour of Oprah Winfrey’s Broadway Musical The Color Purple, the group consists of Greg Ward; saxophonist, composer, performer, playing with musical greats such as Von Freeman, Frank Wess, and Al Jarreau, Joshua Ramos; bass guitarist, playing in bands which have opened for the likes of Stevie Wonder and Wynton Marsalis, and Chris Neal; keyboardist and vocalist, performing on stage with The Temptations, The O’Jays, and the Manhattan Transfer just to name a few.
The group brings a new life to a few familiar sounds, like Coltrane’s Naima, but seamlessly hooks and reels you in with their original songs. All world travelled and successful in their own rights, together, the four breath a life into everything they play, transferring all their talent and energy into an incredibly memorable experience for everyone who has the opportunity to see, hear and feel the quartet.
While the quartet’s current CD, Conversations, focuses on the group’s incredible Jazz talent, they also have the experience and tenacity to play everything from funky Blues to Gospel as well as pull off a high energy Latin song.
