"Metrobeat"

"Charles Hedgepath is to the Upstate music scene what guys such as Sam Bush and Jerry Douglas are to the Nashville scene. Quite simply, he's one of the finest instrumentalists around. And, like those guys, Hedgepath is capable of delivering the goods in practically any musical genre. But don't take our word for it, check out his solo debut EP, Odds & Ends, which is arguably the most organically beautiful collection of roots-oriented tunes from a local artist in some time. Fans of the Grateful Dead, in particular, should be quite impressed. As part of his regular Roots Confusion series, Hedgepath teams up with a different area musician each week."

"Horizon Records Newsletter"

Charles Hedgepath, a Columbia native, is a muti-instrumentalist and a passionate improviser. In the last decade Hedgepath has recorded and performed with Spigot, an experimental jazz/rock group, The Work, a funky R&B orientated jazz group, and his own eclectic quartet whose new EP release entitled "Odds & Ends" features Mike Bagwell on pedal steel, Jeff Holland on drums and percussion, and Chris Garret on bass. Although Hedgepath frequently picks up the mandolin and dobro, Charles currently leads the Hedgepath Roots Confusion from the six-strings, Thursday nights at Blue Z Cafe on Stone Avenue. The Roots Confusion is a rotating group of absolute gentlemen who join carefully chosen special guests each week to perform original music and cover material ranging from Steve Earle to Bob Marley. Hedgepath excels at creating fresh jazz and roots music, raucous improvisation, and exciting musical fusions bound to ignite your musical tastebuds.
