Seemingly The Genesis of Soul was created independent of the bounds of time. From conception to fulfillment in less time than the natural birthing process. This record is proof that you can make a quality project without the cost that a major studio incurs. The Genesis of Soul was recorded in a Bronx, NY studio/bedroom and with a portable set up (Macbook Pro & Mbox) in a Brooklyn, NY living room.

Bio
Charles Perry, affectionately known as Charlie, was born in Brooklyn, New York and began his singing career at the tender age of five. Like many other singing greats, Charlie's deep and soulful singing was cultivated in the black church.
From the age of ten, Charlie was featured on many gospel recordings across the country. Afterwards, he became the youngest theater actor to earn a role in Vy Higginson's highly acclaimed musical "Mama, I want to Sing Part 3" in which he sang alongside of gospel legends Cee Cee Winans, Shirley Ceasar and actress Shari Headley. Charlie also perfomed in the play "This is my Song", which featured gospel icons Tramaine Hawkins, Cissy Houston and Shirley Ceasar.
Because of his extraordinary singing ability, Charlie's resume include touring with singers such as Regina Belle, Stephanie Mills, Tonya Blount (SisterAct), Grammy Award winner Lisa Fischer and Stellar Award nominee James Hall and Worship and Praise. He's also performed with the likes of Kim Burrell, Karen Clarke-Sheard, Byron Cage, David Hollister, Liza Minelli, Whitney Houston, Usher, Luther Vandross, 98 Degrees, Marc Anthony, rap artists De La Soul, of which he was featured on their hit song "Reality", Harry Connick Jr., and the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
Charlie's television credits include the David Letterman Show, Michael Jackson's 25th Anniversary Special, Miracle on 34th Street Concert, 2008 World Music Awards (UK), Mercury Awards(UK), Vodafone Awards (UK), The Al Murray Show (UK), as well as performed for the 2010 Olympics in Vancourver, Canada.
Recently, Charles Perry has successfully completed a world tour with John Legend's recording artist and Grammy Award winner, Estelle.
