Christ, the Son of God

Written By: Charles P. Saunders

Christ, the Son of God
(dedicated to my mother and father, Charles H. and Mabel P. Saunders)

Words and Music by Charles P. Saunders
Arranged by Mike Steinel and Beverly Hoch
Vocal by Craig Marshall
Piano by Brian Piper
Produced and Engineered by Erik Herbst at The Panhandle House

Lying there upon the hay,
She didn’t look like a holy mother –
Just a young girl who gave birth
In a stable by the way.
She didn’t look like the chosen one -
Just a humble carpenter’s wife -
Yet the angel said the child she bore
Was Son of the Most High.

“Glory to God,” the angels sang,
“Peace, good will to all
For this day to you is born
Christ, the Son of God.”

Kneeling there upon the straw,
He didn’t look like a special father –
Just a young man with wife and child
In a roadside cattle stall.
He didn’t look like he’d raise a king -
Just a humble carpenter man -
Yet the angel said this boy of his
Would save us from our sins.

“Glory to God,” the angels sang,
“Peace, good will to all
For this day to you is born
Christ, the Son of God.”

Nestled there in Mary’s arms,
He didn’t look like a savior –
Just a newborn baby boy
Wrapped up to keep him warm.
He didn’t look like the Prince of Peace -
Just a humble carpenter’s son -
Yet the angels sang to all the world,
“Immanuel has come.”

“Glory to God,” the angels sang,
“Peace, good will to all
For this day to you is born
Christ, the Son of God.”

“Glory to God,” the angels sing,
“Peace, good will to all
For to you this day is born
Christ, the Son of God.”

With This Ring

Written By: Charles P. Saunders and Mike Cunningham

With This Ring

Verse
With this ring I give you back your cheatin’ ways.
I’m through waitin’ up for you at night.
I don’t need you to get me through my days.
With this ring I release you from my life.

Verse
With this ring I give you back your constant lies.
I know you’ll be sorry when I’m gone.
I won’t need you to get me through my nights.
With this ring I release you from now on.

Chorus
The band is gone from my finger
But it feels like it’s still there
Cause those memories linger
Even though its place is bare.
It was a symbol of your love
But now it’s empty and cold,
A sad reminder of what was
It’s yours to have and to hold.

Solo Break

Verse
With this ring I give you back your promises.
You never kept them anyhow.
I don’t need you for my happiness.
With this ring I release you from your vows.

Bridge
In return I only ask one thing,
One request before we part,
As I give you back this wedding ring
Would you please give me back my heart!

Chorus
The band is gone from my finger
But it feels like it’s still there
Cause those memories linger
Even though its place is bare.
It was a symbol of your love
But now it’s empty and cold,
A sad reminder of what was
It’s yours to have and to hold.

Loving You

Written By: Charles P. Saunders and Mike Cunningham

Loving You

Verse
In your eyes I see lights
All the stars in the sky
I see the whole world anew
In your eyes I see life
From a different point of view
And the most amazing thing of all
Is I see me loving you

Verse
In your eyes I see love
Heavens bright above
I see my whole life anew
In your eyes I see love
With such truth and honesty
And the most amazing thing of all
Is I see you loving me

Chorus
I want to be everything you need
Give you my best both night and day
If my eyes reveal my soul
You’ll know I’ll always be
Right here loving you this way

Bridge
One look in your eyes
And my whole life was changed
I know that my heart
Will never be the same

Lead Break

Verse
I thank God for your love
And the stars above
For showing me my dreams anew
A world filled with hope
And the promise your love holds
But the most amazing thing of all
Is I see me loving you

Chorus
I want to be everything you need
Give you my best both night and day
If my eyes reveal my soul
You’ll see I’ll always be
Right here loving you this way

Don't Shut Me Out

Written By: Charles P. Saunders and Mike Cunningham

Don’t Shut Me Out

Verse 1
Open up. Please don't hide
What you're feeling inside.
Is it me? Is it you?
Tell me what you're going through.
Do you want me to leave?
Cause I feel you're pushing me
out the door away from you.
Is that what you mean to do?

Pre-Chorus
My heart feels the waves crashing on our shore.
I can't see the passion in your eyes no more...

Chorus
Don't shut me out; these clouds of doubt will pass.
Take my hand and hold tight to what we have.
Together we can make it through this storm.
Just tell me darling what you're looking for.
It's not too late to save us from our pride.
Don't shut me out; we can work this out tonight.

Verse 2
So many thoughts run through my head
as we sleep in different beds.
Can't we agree not to fight
so we can try to get things right?
I know it's late but I can't sleep;
tell me what you want from me.
Can we try to see this through?
Is it what you want to do?

Pre-Chorus

Chorus

Bridge
I'm trying hard to understand
but I can't read your mind.
Baby, I'm giving all I can.
Let me in while there's still time!

Chorus
