You know…the whole seven member band, with the fiddle and the banjo, and the washboard vibes is a thing–but it’s a thing that when done right is a real good thing. Trust us, we’re seeing all of it, we’re get videos and Soundcloud links all day of these bands and it can go real wrong real fast but with Charlie and the Foxtrots that is not the case, these dudes do it all really really good! - Nylon Guys Magazine
Songwriter Says: “I wrote this song right before I left school and started this project,” frontman Chas Wilson tells us. “I was in a place where I was really analyzing my situation for the first time. My relationship and my surroundings all seemed so meaningless, and the more I thought about things the more suffocated I became. ‘The Man I Am’ was all about stepping onto a path that would help me become the person I needed to be. That’s exactly what it did.” - American Songwriter Magazine
All told these guys are the perfect kind of band we like to write about here. They’re easy to brag on, very well accomplished musically, and well on their way to finding their artistic identity. I’ve already contacted the band about working with them on their future releases. They are well worth your time and your five bucks for the EP. If you’re a fan of Mumford and Sons, the Avett Brothers, the Lumineers, and similar new folk bands, you really ought to give Charlie and the Foxtrots a spin. You won’t be disappointed. - Ear to the Ground Music Blog
With six musicians playing a dozen instruments, it’s no surprise that there’s a complexity to their sound that is both rewarding and pleasing. The production is clean and wholly sympathetic, and the result is a collection that’s fresh and bright sounding, and emphasizes their talent for ambitious, accessible pop writing, while effortlessly avoiding the clichés of the form. - Leicester Bangs

Bio
Based out of Nashville, TN Charlie and the Foxtrots is a meeting
of seven musical minds. In January 2013, a chance encounter online
introduced Chas Wilson (vocals/guitar) and Rob Hutchison (fiddle). From
there they brought together the rest of the ‘Foxtrots’ into the current
line up: James Varner (drums/vocals), Matt McClure (bass), Jeremy
Webster (piano/vocals), Andrew Mcpheters (banjo/mandolin/trumpet), Josh
Ramos (guitar/harmonica/banjo/mandolin). The Folk / Pop group worked at a
galloping pace to record their first EP in March of 2013 after the
support of a highly successful Kickstarter campaign, officially
launching the band in June 2013.
Since It’s conception the band has gone on to release two EPs, two
music videos, and tour across the country, playing everywhere from
Florida, to Wisconsin, to Washington, California, Texas, and everywhere
between.
“A couple of us (Chas, and James) grew up playing music together in
small bands throughout high school. We mostly just goofed off, played at
bars, and parties in our small Georgia town. We recorded a demo of one
song that we wrote together, then posted it on an online music sharing
site. From there we met with Rob (fiddle), and put together a concept
for the project.”
