Bio

Starting off as a dare, Charlie 6th Avenue was formed in 2004. Mikey G and Terah, dating for about 6 months at this time, had no idea that they were going to be the married, dynamic, high energy Indie band based out of Tulsa OK. When you first hear Charlie 6th Avenue, you’re caught off guard by the percussive acoustic stylings of front-man Mikey G. The funk bass rhythms produced by Kevin Snyder then begin to take over. Taking a look at the band you’ll be surprised to see that the drum machine in the back, Terah, is the best looking drummer you’ve ever seen. You’ll also notice a kid who probably needs to be carded at every show they play, he’s not nearly old enough to be as good as he is. Kerry Egeler will melt your face off with his guitar solos and riffs.

C6A is a throwback to a time when music was pure. If you listen closely, you may hear a little singer/songwriter in Mikey G’s vocals. There’s also a little Zeppelin, some Killers, a Foo Fighter or two, but in the end, it’s all C6A. A band that doesn’t take themselves too seriously, C6A enjoys every step along the way. Their music is a journey and they have learned never to despise humble beginnings. They're free spirits willing to go where the music takes them. Not afraid to experiment with their style and the real issues that life presents, each song represents an intimate part of who they are as individuals and as a band. Their music is true to life. Not the pop-rock, hip-hop over-produced hollow music we often hear on the radio. C6A knows that music is sometimes best when left a little gritty. Trash is picked up Tuesdays and Fridays. Curbside.

The band’s main goal is to keep the audience entertained. And entertained you will be when you catch them live. According to Mikey G, “I don’t care who you are, you shouldn’t be on stage if you’re not willing to let loose and cut a little rug. So if you’re feeling a little nervous about dancing, take a good look at the stage, make a little eye-contact, and when Mikey nods to you, bust it. Funky Cold Medina.
