Charlie Damara is a soul-infused singer-composer-performer who intuitively genre-bends to create an avant-garde pop sound. She presents a pure, tone-rich voice, and a live show not without emotional histrionics. Charlie performs solo with her keyboard, or fills out her sound backed by a band.
A self-proclaimed old-fashioned soul, she professes to have teleported her way to the future to continue blazing a sonic trail and spread the music love for future Earth inhabitants to come.
She is influenced by a very diverse array of entertainers/artists, such as Nina Simone, Fred and Adele Astaire, Sarah Vaughan, Sam Cooke, Jeff Buckley, Nick Cave, Cyndi Lauper, David Bowie, Peter Gabriel, Annie Lennox, Chopin, Bach, Mozart, Brahms, and various hip-hop, blues, soul, jazz and gospel music.
