Bio
Charlie Horse is a eight piece funk, blues and jazz band. I (Warwick Hargreaves, Guitar) started Charlie Horse mid '08 with a plan to play all the funky groove tunes that I love. I have an ever increasing pool of extremely funky muso's to draw on, so each gig has a fresh feel with slightly different lineups. The standard lineup is Drums, Bass, Congas, Organ, Trumpet, Trombone, Vocals and Guitar. Playing the music of Grant Green, Kenny Burrell, Lee Morgan, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Herbie Hancock and more. The band always gets a great response when we play, it seems the music resonates with a wide audience, in particular, those who like to dance!
We also can add Sax when desired and for our 4 hr shows we have a Dj to spin some tunes to keep the groove between sets ,who joins in on the decks for some tunes.
We have played some great venues in and around Brisbane/Gold Coast and are looking to travel further.
