Biography

Charliepapa was formed in Merida, Venezuela in 2001 by Mattia Medina (lead vocals, guitar), Felix Hoffman (drums), Osheye Rebolledo (bass guitar) and Jonathan Bellomo (guitar).
The band has three studio albums: Quinta Giuliana (2008), 20.000 Leguas Cuadriláteras (2010) and Y/O (2015); from which many singles have become hits on the radio and have been embraced by both the public and music critics alike. They have toured for over 5 years, which has placed them as one of the most predominant Venezuelan rock bands.
Their music has been described as intuitive pop/roc with potent melodies and sincere lyrics. The band was named after the acronyms "C" and "P" from the nautical phonetic alphabet which means "I am proceding to your assistance" as response to the "S.O.S" distress call.
Currently, Charliepapa is promoting their third studio album Y/O, which was produced by Carlos Imperatori, Rudy Pagliuca (La Vida Boheme) and Hector Castillo (Roger Waters, Beck, Gustavo Cerati) and was nominated to Pepsi Music Awards (Venezuela) and The Latin Grammys in 2015.
