Follow You

Written By: Charlie Simpson

When you were a small child,
You were quiet and shy.
You needed mom at your side,
Before giving new things a try.

But you watched the world around you,
And you began to see.
Other kids left out, made fun of,
Feeling lost and lonely.

You knew it wasn’t right, you knew it wasn’t fair.
Why won’t someone please rise up,
And show them we care?

You’ve got a voice,
Let it be heard.
But let your actions,
Speak louder than words.
You have the courage,
You know the truth.
Be kind, show compassion,
Others will follow you.

I know it’s tough to stand for,
What the in-crowd deems uncool.
To make yourself a target,
Of the bullies at school.

It doesn’t matter what those kids think,
If you want to change the world.
Trust your instincts, be a leader,
Soon they’ll say wow, who’s that girl!

You’ve got a voice,
Let it be heard.
But let your actions,
Speak louder than words.
You have the courage,
You know the truth.
Show love and compassion,
Others will follow you.

You knew it wasn’t right, you knew it wasn’t fair.
You were a friend when she needed one,
Now there’s a smile where once were tears.

(Repeat chorus twice)

The Grass is Always Greener

Written By: Charlie Simpson

Lately I’ve been thinking
About my life, what I’ve done
Have I made the most of my talents?
Have I done the best I could?

I’m getting kind of restless
Like my time is running out
Maybe there’s a better job
Or a cause I can care about

I’ve got this empty feeling,
There’s a part of me I need to find.

It’s a lie, it’s a myth,
You know it doesn’t exist.
Wake up, man, stop searching,
Look now or you’ll miss it.
Kiss your wife, hug your kids,
You’ll be happy that you did.
The grass is always greener,
On your side of the fence.

I’ve really been quite lucky,
Just look around and you’ll see.
Family and friends who support me,
A world of opportunity.

The biggest job before me,
Is to raise my little girls’ right.
Their future is my mission,
I’m reminded as I tuck them in each night.

I’ve got this easy feeling,
I’ve found what I’m looking for.
It’s a lie, it’s a myth,
You know it doesn’t exist.
Wake up, man, stop searching,
Look now or you’ll miss it.
Kiss your wife, hug your kids,
You’ll be happy that you did.
The grass is always greener,
On your side of the fence.

Walk the Road

Walk The Road – Charlie Simpson

Our girls are growing older,
I wish we could slow it down.
Everything round us is changing,
Across the world to our small town.

With no history to guide this moment,
We make it up as we go along.
Where’s the wisdom of our fathers,
The common threads that make us strong?

REFRAIN:
Don’t walk the road without me,
And leave me where I stand.
We’re better off together,
So come on take my hand.
The future is uncertain,
The path is ours to clear.
So join me on this journey,
With you I’ll have no fear.

What happens when our heroes,
Reveal they’re human after all?
What emerges from the ashes,
Is beyond prediction or control.

The answer lies within us,
We need the courage to take the call.
With the grace of a higher power,
We’ll take the leap but not the fall.

REFRAIN

Years from now, in the sunset of our lives.
Will there be an affirmation,
Of our work to leave the world a better place.
Will we see it in the children’s eyes?

REFRAIN
