Charlus

Charlus

BandAlternativeRock

My music is traditional Rock/Pop, with an emphasis on the Lyrics, singer, Daniel is a great storyteller who draws from diverse subjects...in the fashion of the great Lyricists. Recently released CD "Tragic Accident" is Political, Religious, Sexy and Magical...Its can be truly called transcendental

Biography

Charlus produces some very unique and fascinating music, after hearing it, the voice especially, is not soon forgotten and this is because I am singing with complete honesty....I dont stand up and wave my dick with machismo and nor do I crumble into the corner and espouse self pity...The music I write is for everyone, it is universal, I write music that is genderless and therefore very very human. I think Charlus has tremendous potential and is certainly here to stay for a long time.

Lyrics

I NEVER LIKED MY BODY

Written By: DANIEL

I NEVER LIKED MY BODY

Calling out, to all “Tomorrows”

I’m pulling for the future and my September heart

I never really liked my body, I never liked the way I looked

If you ever wonder why Sex passes you by and cries

“Oh no, not for you”

That which restores also destroys…It’s a blessing you will find

to truly be your own

When the World doesn’t have principles
And the World doesn’t care about

Your feelings

If Perfection is what your looking for,

Perfect is so hard to find

Calling out to all “Tomorrows”

I’m looking towards the future

Coming in the setting sun

Rise me up or drag me under

When the world goes under water, I will smile as I drown

I never really liked this body

I never liked the way it looked

Nobody ever wants your body

Nobody likes the way you look

I never really liked my body

I never liked the way I look

TRAGIC ACCIDENT

Written By: DANIEL

“Tragic Accident” (TRACK 7)

Angel, late last night

Doctor called, bad news

Condition critical

No, it doesn’t look good-

Tragic accident, Interstate Ninety-Five

Running from those things you can never escape

Nicki, I never understood why you lost your confidence

Such a pretty girl, pretty eyes that seem to smile

Come on, put on your clothes

I’m getting you out of this place

And that stuff in your nose wont make you feel more connected

connected…

How you supposed to feel?

When the distance in you grows??

Tiger in a cage,

Round and round the bars go-

Sister, don’t you cry

We’ll be just fine

We’ll open up the good wine,

have a drink,

oh we will drink tonight-

I’ll always have a record to write and you always had a life,

Maybe that’s just what she knew,

She knew, deep inside.

THE OPIUM FARMER

Written By: Daniel

THE OPIUM FARMER

He lived in a cottage close to the sea

He raised his family on profits from the poppies perfumed

On the mountain beyond

Every day he awoke with the dawn

He set to the fields,

blood on his hands

and the stones,

his Fathers bore-

My light, my love, my only Son

Just give me your life

Then one night by candlelight

He kissed the Koran

Then his wife

and made for the road

to Palestine-

He met the people he needed to meet

There were cells in Hamburg

Berlin

Belize

If He’ll fly

the friendly skies

Glory is not

For Free

Take them by surprise

Opium

gonna get real high

Opium

Cut the flower with the knife

Mohamed never felt so good

Catch a bus in Jerusalem

Gonna strap that shit around his waist

Gonna buy his way into martyrdom

Yeah martyrdom

Yeah martyrdom

Yeah martyrdom

My light, my love, my only son

Glory is not for free

Your life for mine

Hallelujah

Hallelujah

Hallelujah
