"BLEINES SHARES "GYM" LEAD"

Charly Bleines, 16-year old singer, songwriter and actress has been cast in the lead female role for "City Gym The Musical" which premieres in Sydney on October 14. The show's writer, producer and director Daniel Thompson says "It's exciting to be working with someone you know will be the next big thing."

Bleines moved to Sydney from Rockhampton in North Queensland ten months ago. She's recorded a demo for Sony/ATV Music publishing, performed at Telstra and Suncorp Stadiums to crowds of over 35,000; and got best contemporary vocals 16/u McDonalds Performing art Challenge (Sydney Eisteddfod) from over 80 entrants. She will launch her independently released EP before the end of 2005, says manager Colin Revelman of Images Of Power.

"Crowd Control - Today pre-game entertainment, tomorrow the world"

Not many 15-year olds can say they have performed solo in front of 30,000 people.
But Charly Bleines, a Year 11 studenty from the Newtown High School of Performing Arts, has done just that - and more than once.
Last Sunday, Charly sang in front of tens of thousands of spectators at Telstra Stadium before the Wests Tigers and St George Dragons match. Charly also performed at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane before the Bronco's 2004 semi - final.
Charly has been working with Sony/ATV publishing after being offered an informal development deal that teams her with writers and musicians. She recently finished writing her first song with them.
According to Charly's manager, Colin Revelman from Images of Power, Delta Goodrem made her mark on the industry after singing at a Sydney Swans match.

"Charly gets the gig of a lifetime - again"

IT'S not often a budding singer gets the chance to deliver the
performance of their life -- twice.
But that's what 15-year-old Charlie Bleines will be celebrating on Saturday.
The Rockhampton schoolgirl impressed the Brisbane Broncos when she sang before their match against the Manly Sea Eagles in July. So much so, that she has secured the coveted pre-match performance slot for the Broncos' last home match of the season.
``I'm so excited,'' she said yesterday. ``I got picked up from my dancing lesson and Mum told me, `Your manager just rang up and said the Broncos want you to sing at another game,' and I was like, `Oh my God.' I was screaming.''
The classically trained singer is also thrilled to be singing at what will be the last home game for retiring captain Gorden Tallis, her favourite Broncos player since she began following the team at the age of seven.Charly admits she felt some butterflies in the lead-up to her July
performance. But yesterday she was trying to focus her energy on the four songs she will sing on Saturday, including one she penned herself and
Delta Goodrem's Not Me, Not I.
``At the moment I am not nervous and I'm not excited,'' she said. ``I'm kind of neutral.
``I think it's just because I'm concentrating on the task at hand.
``As soon as I learn my songs and am really confident with them, I
think the excitement will start kicking in.''
Charly said she hoped big gigs such as the ones for the Broncos
would help kick-start the career she has worked towards since the
age of 12, when she gave up swimming to concentrate on singing.
``I figured that swimming was a lonely sport,'' she said. - Brisbane Courier Mail - 8 Sept 2004
