"International Review of Music"

“Charmaine’s brilliantly eclectic singing underscores her growing status as one of the important and original new jazz singers of the decade.”
- Los Angeles TIMES

"Critic's Picks of the Weekend"

"Charmaine Clamor is a gifted vocalist." - New York TIMES

"The Real Deal"

“Super-model looks probably won't hurt her career but she's by no stretch of the imagination 'just another pretty face.' Possessing a profoundly resonant contralto voice, her recording has an emotional depth missing from much contemporary vocal jazz. Clamor is the real deal.”
- CODA Magazine (Canada)

"NPR's Lianne Hansen"

“Charmaine is already a star in her native Philippines. Blessed with a bedroom eyes voice, she’s destined for stardom in America and beyond.” - National Public Radio "Weekend Edition"

"A New Compass Point"

“Clamor vocally resembles an amalgam of Nancy Wilson and Lena Horne, a sumptuously elegant blend of silk and satin, trimmed with gutsy self-possession. With her sublime recordings, Clamor establishes herself as a dynamic new compass point in World Music.” - JAZZ TIMES

"New Discovery"

"Her voice is genuine, and her timbre shimmers with fragrant beauty. I do not speak Filipino, so the lyrics are lost on me. But you sense instantly what Clamor is singing about, and you realize she is a gorgeous singer. She's that good." - JAZZWAX

"Must Haves"

"Clamor's intimate, timeless 'jazzipino' vocal lifts the listener to a relaxed cafe in a foreign land. If you’re up for a world-jazz cultural and educational seduction, My Harana is a must have." - RADIO & RECORDS

"Perfect Blend"

"Combining social consciousness and sex appeal is tough to pull off, but Charmaine Clamor manages it on her terrific recordings. She is a beautiful artist."

"Daring Diva"

"Charmaine Clamor has the most daring and most interesting album among Pinoy divas. The effect on the listener is stunning. It’s a joy to find Filipino melodies performed jazz style by a world-class talent." - Philippines STAR

"Music By Candlelight"

“Clamor has a lovely voice and a talent for interpreting lyrics, which can be heard to excellent effect on My Harana. It is definitely a fitting disk for candlelight from an emerging vocal talent.” - EPOCH TIMES

Charmaine Clamor is the world's leading Filipina jazz & world vocalist. Her global recognition reached new heights in 2010, when Charmaine was the only Filipina to appear on the David Byrne/Fatboy Slim concept album “Here Lies Love” (Nonesuch), about the life of Imelda Marcos. Charmaine is joined on the acclaimed recording by an all-star cast, including Cyndi Lauper, Tori Amos, Martha Wainwright, Sia, Santigold, Sharon Jones, Alison Moorer, Kate Pierson (B-52s) and Natalie Merchant. With two consecutive albums in the JazzWeek World Music Top-10, including the rare feat of simultaneously making Top-5 on both the World (#2 ranking) and Traditional Jazz (#4) radio charts, Charmaine has earned unprecedented praise for introducing audiences to Filipino languages, melodies, and instruments – and for sharing a once-in-a-generation, astonishingly expressive voice.
