Charmane is known by musicians, actors, and others as a songwriter/guitarist/vocalist/humanitarian. Best known for her gifts to inspire, and encourage others through music, and acting. She promotes recognition of purpose, and healing for all ages. She was born in Chicago to Charles Dougles Ward, and Dorothy DuPont Ward.
Her music is very unique and specifically designed to fit the needs of her audiences which extends to being the Music Therapist for Gilda’s Club Chicago, Vitas Hospice, Nursing Homes, ICU’s, Schools, Hospitals and churches, to principal actor, writing, playing and performing her song “James Vallo” in the movie documentary “Chasing Hollywood”( IMBd). Charmane wrote and performed the title song “Extra Hands Of Hope” (YouTube) the theme song for fundraising efforts for the actors community in Chicago aimed at collecting clothing and toys at the major casting and acting agencies at Christmas time for indigent communities of Chicago. Her single "Isaiah 43" can be found on all digital outlet stores and CD Baby. Currently her song " Never Be An Unsung Hero" is deemed the National song against gun violence, featuring the work of Father Michael L. Pfleger, Senior Pastor of St. Sabina's Church in Chicago, IL.
Charmane received SAG/AFTRA for her performance and interview in T-Mobile Commercial and Video “Home for the Holidays”, Directed by Alfonzo Gomez-Region, which earned her a print article interview with Pat Batson, of Yahoo TV. She has done Internet TV interviews and performances with Star Planet, Intellectual Radio, with Katie Lowe, Café YeYe Chicago State University, with Marian Hayes, the 2015 Autumn Jazz Concert also at CSU and Spotlight On Anointed lives. As the only musician/singer on the taping of the 1st Season of BET’s “SUNDAYS BEST,” she received an interview and coverage on “ The Road To SUNDAYS BEST “ filmed in that same year. She has been featured in TV and Film as a Chicago Alderman in “The Chicago Code” and “Boss” with Kelsey Grammer.
Charmane’s goal as she represents herself as a music professional, in various genre of music especially jazz, and gospel. She firmly believes if you help a person find their true purpose in life you create a productive, peaceful, and loving universe.
