Bio
Charnita is a child of God who grew up in Mechanicsville, Maryland, completed one tour in the United States Air Force and now lives in Raleigh, North Carolina. Throughout her lifetime, she had a desire to sing. She started out in elementary school chorus and continued through high school, competing in Honor's Chorus. During her Senior year of high school, she won 1st place in a school's talent show.
In 1999, she gave her life to Jesus, in which she allowed Him to nurture her in His Spirit and truth. In 2001, she joined a Praise and Worship Band with her Church and began to sing again, (this time for the Lord).
This now, wife and mother of 3 is writing songs to share with the world so people can see how the Lord has changed her life and how He can change other's as well. She wants everyone to know that no matter who you are, what you have done or where you have been, that God loves you and is waiting for you to run to Him with open arms.
The album Charnita is currently working on is entitled "All for You Lord", as the songs on this album reflects how she feels about her life, as well as how the Holy Spirit is working in her through these songs. "My desire is to reach out to as many people as I can through this music ministry being a Disciple of Christ (DOC). I want to let the world know that all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23), but through Jesus we all are made whole again, if we give our lives to Him."
Charnita's influences are those who are spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone in the world using the gifts and talents that the Lord has given them.
What set's Charnita apart from other singers/bands is the Lord's Spirit that lives within her. "Although the Holy Spirit lives in all Christians and we are all one body, each one of us have a unique quality and are all needed to be a complete body of Christ." By this, Charnita has her own unique style of music which includes, spoken word, and can sing many styles of Christian music to include rap, R&B and contemporary.
