Despite becoming one of the more active and determined artists in the current independent Bridgeport scene, Davis originally had no intention of becoming a rapper. While growing up on soul, rock and other classic genres, he wasn’t exposed to hip hop until hearing Redman, Wu Tang Clan, Notorious BIG and Craig Mack in high school.
It was love at first sight – Davis dove headfirst into the great artists of today and yesterday, immersing himself in the culture while freestyling with friends on the weekend, committing to the pen and the pad. By 2008, his debut Chase Davis is ‘Davis ‘68’ was released and distributed through Amalgam Digital, garnering national attention and landing him a spot with RKM Management.
