Chase Hollis

Born in 1986 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Chase Hollis born Robert

Courtney Spaulding is an aspiring R&B, Reggae and Pop artist who

writes, produces music and dances. Chase, the oldest of three boys

was raised single handedly by his Jamaican-born mother, Carol

Chambers, from whom Chase draws some inspiration. Chase’s

mother would often play music from the likes of Bob Marley, Marvin

Gaye, Anita Baker and Sting and Chase found these music icons to

be the leading aspect for his love for music.

As he grew up in West Philly, he slowly discovered his passion for

music while watching MTV. With each introduction to a new song, he

would record the music and play it back, while singing along. Often

times, he would choreograph dance moves to the music videos that

he thought were missing. At a young age, he mastered his musical

and dancing talents, which quickly impressed family and friends. As

his Uncle Mike recalls, “we used to call him the ‘microphone-fiend’

because he was so skilled in song and dance”. In fact, Chase gained

public recognition during his middle school years as a contestant in

an 8th grade Black History talent show, his rendition of “My Girl” (by

The Temptations) won first prize. He performed “I Should Be” (by

Dru Hill) for his classmates in the 11th grade, receiving high

recognition from his classmates.

For Chase, music is an inseparable part of his life because as he

explains, “it’s a reflection of my soul.” With these accomplishments

in hand, his path towards a musical career had begun. The next stop

on this path was the prestigious Art Institute of Atlanta, where he

gained experience in audio production.

As a student, Chase recorded and produced the music for a few

visiting bands, including Brian David & Plain Spoken Folk and an

international group called Rua-6 who are a R&B band from Portugal.

Chase manages everything with an easy-going, laid back approach to

life. There, he finds the drive, passion, and creativity that shape his

own unique musical style, one that will be a hit with fans and critics

alike, as it expands into the market. True to his name, this talented

youngster is chasing his dreams to make it in the world of R&B, as

well as Reggae and Pop. Record companies looking to introduce their

fans to an up-and-coming musician would do well to meet Chase and

help him on his way.
