Bio

September 29, 1992 is the day the chapter of this book started and it’s been filled with pages of laughter, grief, and unforgettable memories. Born Jamal Harris he was raised in several areas of Maryland which reflects how diverse his style is in general. His struggle as an adult and the loss of Lauren, his child’s mother along with losing custody of his son shortly after is what inspired who we know as Cha$e Mill$ today.

The name came from a friend who suggested it after he thought it sounded better than Milli Montana. It stuck with him due to the current circumstances he was in Cha$e was always known for going after whatever he wanted. The Mill$ was just the icing on the cake.

Growing up Cha$e struggled with his 2 younger siblings and his mom until she got married and moved to Frederick, Maryland where he also went to high school. His dad was active in his life but wasn’t always available. His mother never really listen to music except for 80s and 90s r&b. It was his dad who was so into the underground rap culture that had Cha$e interested. He was inspired by artists such as Lil Wayne, Three 6 Mafia, 50 cent, Tupac, Nas and many more. He first tested the waters at 13 writing lyrics in a composition book at night before he went to bed. By 15 he was in Frederick recording in his basement on a MP3 player along with his cousin. They formed a group called DC Connect. At the time he never took it serious just played around for fun with it but it wouldn’t be until 9 years later he decided to take his talent for writing music serious.

Life isn’t always easy. Cha$e has been homeless for 2 years, been in out of jail since 18, loss friends and family yet you would never be able to tell he’s going thru a tragedy because he always has a smile on his face. He’s always encouraging others to do better and has a big heart. Listening to his music you can hear his pain and struggle as he shares with his audience a story unique yet relatable.
