Pat Deighan & The Orb Weavers are a 4 piece band from Charlottetown PEI with a sound that blends rock, indie and alt country tunes into some of the best ragged ass, bar-brawl and hangover rock and roll anywhere.

Biography

The little city of Charlottetown,
is home to Chas Guay. Originally from Montreal,
Chas found here, a community of diverse musicians,
a place to raise a family & eventually a strong sense
that this is where he belongs.

Chas has been a major advocate & supporter of music
on Prince Edward Island. He brings a wealth
of experience & generosity of spirit to the musicians around him.
With a long history & versatility as a songwriter / musician
Chas has performed and recorded
with some of the finest artists from the east coast & beyond,
including; Mae Moore, Gene MacLellan,
Nathan Wiley, Lennie Gallant and Mick Taylor.

For fifteen years, Chas owned and operated,
the only indie record store in Charlottetown.
Back Alley Discs, in the heart of the little city.
It really was in a back alley then.
Back Alley is where Chas first found inspiration for his songs
& the time & space to write, in the back room at night.
Still in operation, under different ownership...Back Alley
is located next door to the coolest music bar in town,
Babas Lounge. Chas plays regularly at Babas.

His new album Little City introduces us to an odd mix of characters
whether it be Fiona, the transient blues poet,
Frenchy, the wedding drummer
or the love struck patron in New Bartender.
They are all a part of the fabric that make up the Little City...

Lyrics

Little City

Written By: Chas Guay

It's a pleasant little world we live in
Small scene big dreams
There's a promise for a brighter tomorrow
Small scene big dreams

We've got farmers and fishers, rolling hills
Lovely meadows but I like it still
Downtown
I like it here downtown

That's the way it always will be
A little city on an island, little island on the sea.

It's poor and it's precious incestuous and quaint
Blessed by Jesus and funded by the state
And everybody says that they can't wait to leave
They want to leave downtown.

That's the way it always will be
A little city on an island, little island on the sea

Across this great bridge with the mainland in sight
A bus runs forever.
That bus it runs tonight...

It's cold in the winter, this we know
We live in darkness under a blanket of snow
We raised our children right here...downtown
We raised them here downtown

That's the way it always will be
A little city on an island, little island on the sea...

New Bartender

Written By: Chas Guay

It's just a lazy bar
On the corner of my street
I'm there each day at four
It's where my friends all meet

My wife stays home and cooks
The kids are at the books
Sometimes I feel so lonely
But that's not how it looks

There's a new bartender
There's a new bartender

She's been married twice before
She has a son that lives out west
A scar across her cheek
A smile you won't forget

I stay out late at night
We talk about her past
She pours my drink so slowly
She wants my thirst to last

She's the new bartender
She's the new bartender

The sweetest kiss
Touched me on the lips
She leaned across the bar
Said "have a taste of this".

She's the new bartender
She's the new bartender..

I Don't Care Anymore

Written By: Chas Guay

Please, you take this heart of mine
I don't want in no more
I don't need it no more

I've been a fool too many times before
I don't care anymore
I don't care anymore

Every time I fall in love it only cheats me
And I pray to God above somebody needs me
I don't care anymore
Babe I don't care anymore

You act like you're going to leave me
I don't care anymore
I don't care anymore

A cool steel wind it blows right through me
I don't care anymore
No, I don't care anymore

Every time I fall in love it only cheats me
And I pray to God above that somebody needs me
I don't care anymore
I don't care anymore
