"Review"

“ Guay is a keen observer...
and a fine storyteller....
...inspired by the people, the places and
the events that have left their mark on him...
...nicely crafted, with a very crisp ,
very clean, very rich sound....
...Little City is one fine piece of work...

Bio

The little city of Charlottetown,
is home to Chas Guay. Originally from Montreal,
Chas found here, a community of diverse musicians,
a place to raise a family & eventually a strong sense
that this is where he belongs.

Chas has been a major advocate & supporter of music
on Prince Edward Island. He brings a wealth
of experience & generosity of spirit to the musicians around him.
With a long history & versatility as a songwriter / musician
Chas has performed and recorded
with some of the finest artists from the east coast & beyond,
including; Mae Moore, Gene MacLellan,
Nathan Wiley, Lennie Gallant and Mick Taylor.

For fifteen years, Chas owned and operated,
the only indie record store in Charlottetown.
Back Alley Discs, in the heart of the little city.
It really was in a back alley then.
Back Alley is where Chas first found inspiration for his songs
& the time & space to write, in the back room at night.
Still in operation, under different ownership...Back Alley
is located next door to the coolest music bar in town,
Babas Lounge. Chas plays regularly at Babas.

His new album Little City introduces us to an odd mix of characters
whether it be Fiona, the transient blues poet,
Frenchy, the wedding drummer
or the love struck patron in New Bartender.
They are all a part of the fabric that make up the Little City...
