Chasing Amy

A high-energy atmosphere, audience participation and a blend of Rock, Alternative and Pop are just a few of the ingredients that make up “Chasing Amy”. Formed in late 2007, the band consists of four talented and seasoned performers that bring in a diversity of musical styles and presentation.

Fronting the band is the dynamic and talented Singer/Guitarist Lisa Matthews. Lisa is an accomplished solo artist and a veteran performer with many bands and acoustic duos. Lisa's original music has been featured on several Chicago radio stations including WLUP and WDCB. Known for her compelling vocal force and guitar work, Lisa draws from a diversity of musical influences including contemporary pop, alternative rock and folk.

As a mainstay of the Chicagoland circuit for almost 40 years, Guitarist/Vocalist Bill Volling blends a classic rock sound but with a contemporary approach. Inspiration comes by the likes of Eric Johnson and Jimmy Page. A veteran of bands such as “Borderline” and “Jebs Clampett”, Bill delivers when the call goes out for either hot screaming solos or steamy melodic leads.

Bassist “Joliet” Dave Rodriguez is a veteran of the local scene going back to the mid 1970’s as a member of “Guardian”, “The Bluz Boyz”, “Lickity Split” and “Wolfs Crossing”. Inspired by performers like Geezer Butler, John Entwhistle and Roger Glover, Dave’s high-energy bass lines coupled with a melodic approach keep the band pumping along on all eight cylinders.

Keeping it all together is drummer Paul Chamberlin. A seasoned veteran of the local scene for over 40 years, including a recent association with “The Acoustibobs” and a past member of “Slink Rand” and “Vintage Wood”, Paul’s rock steady tempo, pro attitude and dedication to keeping an audience entertained is a major element in Chasing Amy’s live show. Just a few words of warning to the faint of heart, “Chasing Amy” is more than ready to kick in the doors, roll up the floors and personally deliver a mob sized serving of “Kick Ass Rockin’ Chicago Style”!
