Bio
What are the chances of two people from the tiny Island of Gozo in the middle of the Medeteranean sea of being chosen as 'Featured Artists' on BBC Radio 2, performing live on Radio 2 for Janice Long,
sitting alongside Sting on The Hit Sheet 'Record Of The Week ?
Well if you are Chasing Pandora, pretty high !
Melissa Portelli moved to Gozo from Canada when she was very young. Keith Anthony similarly swapping the streets of New York for the Gozo fields. Melissa was a poet. Keith a guitarist in a local band. It was the brutal murder of her beloved brother that spiralled Melissa into the depths and she found the only way to deal with the grief was to write about it. It was Steve Brown - former creative manager and producer to Elton John who was setting up a home studio that after hearing Melissa singing while in the office filing room asked Keith and Melissa to record a couple of simple songs to test the equipment. Chasing Pandora was formed and between the three of them they recorded song after song. They are now Malta's most respected artists and are now launching themselves into other territories. They will be performing at 2010 NXNE. They have mountains of fabulous music industry reviews and have begun building a following outside Malta.
Recently chosen as 'Featured Artist' on BBC Radio 2 Good Morning Sunday. Their single was chosen by The Music Week Panel as 'Record of the Week' and 'Running In Circles' chosen on The Hit Sheet. As Acoustic Magazine put it 'They are destined to be a hit beyond their island home'.
