"Texas Boy Does Well In NY Lights"

"...Chason draws on the true artists perspective of creating music. His commercial value may just be that he is traditionally uncommercial and writes songs about all the things we talk about daily to our inner most circle of friends, but never want to publicly reveal." - Village Voice

"Something def-ear-ent"

"1def-ear-ent-inc. a newly formed Indie Label that claims to be non-profit has three artists touring the East Coast together and I was back stage for this one on one interview with all of them last night.
Chason Flanders, the veteran of the three, and the artist on the label with the most cd's sold, is a unique hybrid of Jeff Buckley, Damien Rice and David Gray. The label claims that though they need to confirm their sales stats with ASCAP, Chason has almost reached the 10,000 mark with the release of the cd on this new label only being 4 months ago. I found Chason, engaging, intelligent, but calmly reserved and real." - Creative Loafing

"Downtown Space Opens for Music, More"

There's a rising star in the kitchen at Home Sweet GA, and his specialty is not pastries. Rather, Chason Flanders bakes by day, and plays music 2-6 times per week out and about in the Atlanta area. Flanders, who was signed to 1def-ear-ent before it went bancrupt in 2001, has called Nashville, and NY his home. Now that he is back in Northeast GA, he has been able to corral some top notch musicians to play with him. Myles Mattison, whom has toured with Kenny Loggins, Jason Mraz, Marc Broussard, Patti LaBelle, and is one of the most sought after MD's in the music business, is Chason's Drummer, percussionist, and co-writer for upcoming works.
The Bass players and Keyboard players he uses have also toured with big names including Roy Orbison. Check out Chason's music at http://www.chasonflanders.net and come see his next show on the 20th of September here on the historic Gainesville Square at Home Sweet GA. Bio

My father, a handsome crooner with an amazing voice, was the All-State Tenor for 5 years in a row. So singing in my household just comes naturally. Growing up in the Baptist church, my father exposed me to all kinds of music, and started helping me find my way around the piano, and the guitar. After playing in local venues all over the East Coast like The Bitter End, CBGB's Gallery Side, and the infamous 40Watt Club, touring with the likes of The Fountains, Gary Kellam, Michelle Cummings, Brett Oar, Thomas Whales, Howie Day, and others, I did well with the first cd, had some radio spots, and even got some solid reviews, but I moved away when the label folded. I went to Nashville hoping to keep up the fire and played local venues, and a few festivals, but I didn't feel things were moving fast enough so I moved once again to NY. Here I did very well, and got into some great projects licensing my music for Indie films, web projects, and making some great contacts in the industry. I also began, with the help of Leslie Bloome from DTG Productions, creating the second cd. "Then There's You" promises to be a thrilling adventure for all music lovers. Pure, effortless, low-tech and low effects, this work is candid, real and timeless, at least that's what is being said. "More and More" and "You Inspire Me" have already been picked up for two films, one a Major Motion Picture, and two compilation cd's! Come to a show in your area, go to our sites and download the music today! Check http://www.chasonflanders.net often as new dates are confirmed, and thanks for listening! I couldn't do this without your support! All the best!
