"Canadian Reggae Star"

RASE TV congradulates Chatta, winner of the 2007 Canadian Reggae Star talent competition.

Chatta speed rap/chant coupled with original and a hype presentation managed to secure her win of the competition. The judges (Montreal & Toronto combined) were also impressed with Chatta's sense of style as she opted to completely change her wardrobes during her final performance.

Chattas' win serves as proof that persistence pays. Whereas, her transportation broke down en route to Montreal for the 2006 auditions. She managed to survive the initial round of auditions ...

"Regge Xclusive Deejays"

You've been hearing "Complain Not" on much of Toronto's dynamic radio programs. It's a soulful vintage sound that has been a part of one's daily reflection. "Chatta - Uniquely Positive"

Toronto's Chatta began her musical career at a time when the dancehall music industry lacked a necessary input of conscioussness and positivity. Capitalising on this deficit, the then fourteen year-old lyricist opted to fill this gap with positive and spiritual lyrics ... - The Weekly Star July 26 (Gleaner Co Canada) - Michelle Ann Hylton

"Rappin' Ruckus in T.O."

They're young, they're female and they intend on breaking into the male-dominated urban music scene.

Chatta's neatly coiffed dreads compliment her stylish looks. For a moment, her introversion seems to disappear in the thick smoke that hovers in the crowded club, and then she rips it ... - The Toronto Star - Tania Daley, 2000

FROM BABY CHATTA TO CHATTA
The Introduction to Chatta

* Once known as “Baby Chatta” and later sprouting to a vocally stronger and wiser Chatta, Chatta entered her musical realm since the age of fourteen. The name Chatta has derived partially from the name CHAT, as a result of her up-tempo lyrical tongue, therefore being referred as The Speed of Consciousness. Such style was influenced by her elder brother Mark, followed by Lieutenant Stitchie, Capleton, and Beenie Man. Chatta was born of a Jamaican milieu consisting of the St. Andrew and Westmoreland district. Chatta’s ultimate goal is to distribute her product and message on a level whereby the female body is not negatively portrayed, as to stand firm to the exclusion of lyrical vulgarity. For such theme need not be a basis for the appreciation, development, and triumph of her composition, as she reveals; “Repudiate from Selling Your Body, Exhibit your Mind and Ingenuity”.
