In April 2007, while finishing work with a band of local musicians, guitarists Chris Thompson and Dan Sufalko began forming ideas for a group, which would eventually become Cheap Machine. Sufalko invited drummer Tom Marasco into the mix and the group began writing during the Summer and Fall of 07'. With the addition of Kat Bohn on Bass Guitar in January of 08' , Cheap Machine was finally complete.

Influenced by a wide array of musical styles, Cheap Machine's writing falls between the metal and modern rock genres. The band performs with the raw, high energy, rebellious attitude of early era punk while maintaining their own original style.

The group currently rehearses at “The Barn”; somewhere off the back roads of central New Jersey and is in the process of recording four track offering set to release in January 2008. Cheap Machine plans to perform/tour heavily and will begin work on their first full length studio release during the Summer of 08'.

Cheap Machine's goal: to develop a national fan base devoted to an ethos of no bullshit, kick ass music.

Ghost In The Attic

Written By: Cheap Machine

He’s been blown by an endless wind to where he belongs, somewhere in the cold of the winter. Come October’s end he’ll either be in a courthouse or driving alone to Virginia. I know the distance where it brings you, you’ll get too close to the bottom. She showed him about that ghost, I guess that’s where he went wrong. He’s just an innocent victim thrown into the fire. I guess that’s where he belongs. Ain’t anybody out there listening? They sense that she’s a liar he don’t belong in no courthouse. She swears she never even kissed him . He’s walked the tightrope wire so tell me where does he go now? Driving alone to Virginia. I’ve been too close to the bottom.

Thirty

All these things out of my hands and I can’t just wish them all away
as if I gave a good goddamn about these problems anyway. I can’t just wish them away. I bury my head. If I prayed every night for all my enemies or counted every star that glittered in the sky strewn over me.; if I sold my soul for your selfish need would you, then couldn’t you say “Isn’t he such a pretty thing now?” And as you become your answer, another question soon arrives. Another lovely little cancer for you to take up all my time. I can’t just wish you away or bury my head. If I prayed every night for all my enemies or counted every star that glittered in the sky strewn over me; if I sold my soul for your selfish need then would you, couldn’t you say “Isn’t he such a pretty thing now?”

Born Again

Written By: Cheap Machine

Terrorize every mother, every child who ever wept in fear. I’ll divide. I will smother every voice that’s ever touched my ear. I get born again. I take all that’s there. I get born again. What I want is what I need is what I will to be and what I wage is my own war to get you on your knees. I fantasize about a whirlwind of false prophets calling out my name, a paralyzed world willing to polarize, to play my game. What I want is what I need is what I will to be and what I wage is my own war to get you on your knees. And any echo of your angst won’t breed anxiety. It won’t erase all that’s caged inside me.
