CHEAP RED WINE is a three piece acoustimatic rock n roll band, playing a strange mutant hybrid of muzak called jersey pop
.singer/songwriter/acoustic guitarist/percussionist gene pompilio iv takes his cues from buddy holly, the beatles, and the british invasion, stuffs them into a vintage d.i.y.punk ethic blender, and adds a dollop of 90's ironic alterna-rock pop-cultural worship for good measure
..the band plays in a kitchen-sink, anti-folk style reminiscent of a modern day modern lovers, with genes folksy strumming and sneaker-stomping bass drumming ably supported and augmented by the freewheeling accordion runs of joe torchia, and the mighty synth-bass foundation of keytarist john moller
..with pompilio vowing to post a new song every week on his blog, www.threechordsandadream.wordpress.com, the band has material to spare, and an official release is imminent
