Bio
Cheating Sons hail from Singapore in South-East Asia and are bringing their magical circus of sound beyond their tropical straits.
Birthed in late-2008 out of the quintessential brew of life, love and music, the Sons found their place in their sprawling, unforgiving home the best way they knew how - by watching, writing and playing.
The Sons are renowned for their highly innovative and vivid instrumentation and rousing live shows. To date, the Sons have packed out many major venues in Singapore including The Esplanade Concert Hall, Timbre (Substation), Home Club, Zouk, BluJaz, TAB and *SCAPE and have played at many significant musical events including Baybeats 2011, Fred Perry Subculture Night, REV UP @ Orchard as well as opening for Irish band, Two Door Cinema Club.
The band released its debut album - Masters, Wives, Daughter - in February 2011 to critical acclaim. Singapore's leading newspaper - The Straits Times - labelled the album as "…stunning roots music…" and leading lifestyle magazine Juice enthused over the record as "…peppered with rock 'n' roll as nostalgically framed and yet invigoratingly arranged that you're smitten at first listen…".
Some international highlights in 2011 include the band's tour of South Korea and China, playing in the respective countries' premier venues such as Freebird and Yuyingtan and performing on Korean television. The tours culminated in the band's participation in the following rock festivals - Asia Spotlight (Inchon, South Korea) and Strawberry Music Festival (Zhenjiang, China). Moving forward, the Sons have slated tours of Japan, Australia, Europe and the USA on the horizon.
