Checkpoint Charlie is a 5-piece pop/punk band that mixes elements of pop, punk and even some hardcore breakdowns into brilliant, catchy music. Mason, Joey, Nick, Eric and Caleb got together and started writing music in 2010 and waited for the perfect opportunity to take the hidden gem that they had been working on out and display it to the world in 2011 when they got with national promoter/manager Chris Koons for a show at Doc's Music Hall where they played to the largest crowd ever recorded at a Doc's Music Hall concert, and the club's first ever ALL AGES show. Over 200 people packed the venue, many of whom making the half hour-long drive to Muncie from Alexandria to see the boys they knew and grew up with.
Since then, Checkpoint Charlie has played a handful of shows across the state of Indiana, each time performing in front of a crowd of more than 100 people.
Checkpoint Charlie are set to hit the studio to record for their debut EP this fall with acclaimed, Jordan Furr (Forevermore) in Indianapolis, Indiana. The boys plan to take that EP on the road in the winter.
