Chekara presents his second album "So close, so far," dedicated to Enrique Morente / April 2014

Chekara is the final stage name Jalal Chekara by the stable group of flamenco musicians and Moroccans with which has been working since the recording of their first album entitled "Chekara and Flamenco, Part 1" (Musica es Amor, 2008).

"So Close, So Far" is called the second album Chekara again steeped in Andalusian music and flamenco. Jalal Chekara addition, this album has involved direct his usual musicians: Vicente Gelo, sing; Tino van der Sman, guitar;  Ensemble Chekara Andalus of Tetun :Elias El Houssaini, violin and cello; Youssef Chair, darbouka and percussion; Mohammed El Hassouni, keyboards and piano; Redouan El Houmdani, violin; Outman Alami, percussion; Jihad Bouchata, lute and violin; and the collaboration of Rosa Algeciras, singing.

.
The special collaboration has been in charge of Estrella Morente on "Soul Seguiriya" counting also with a theme gift "Enrique Morente, in memoriam" recorded live at the Foundation 3 Cultures of Seville in this memorable evening that would his last appearance in the Andalusian capital, May 10, 2010, by the Ensemble Chekara Andalusian Tetouan.

"So close, so far" is the second part of that project, 2008, having completed over 150 performances by the world and have sold over 4500 albums and delivered many other        discount.

Already achieved in a magical drive along with la Chekara y el Flamenco, 1 parte and now manages to give a triple somersault with this recording presents , where flamenco voices like Estrella Morente but where the orchestra itself goes to show slip that it is not and outside the world of the siguiriya, of the peteneras, of the tanguillos or malagueas . It is no longer an incidental finding , but a deliberate journey to a natural fusion that unites people and no different harmonies but sister, vis a vis, a common ancestry , separated by the sea but united by music. Probably was not so brotherly origin of both lines of popular music of this land , brought one from India and another refugee in Morocco. Nevertheless , honesty and interpretive composer of this new orchestra Chekara achieved with talent and flair, dilute the differences and emphasize similarities. A rare miracle we call tradition , evolution and respect.
