Biography

Hailing from a family full of true artistic musical talent in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Chelsea Edgett is steadfastly carving out a place for herself in the indie music scene, from her hometown, to the Canadian Rockies, and the vibrant Los Angeles grass-roots scene of young singer/songwriters.

An unmistakable artist, full of youth and passion,
Chelsea has demonstrated an early penchant for introspection and self-examination. Her music and lyric thus reflects the places she's been and where she comes from,
as an uncommonly insightful songwriter,
and a soulful, charismatic vocalist.

Continuously writing and recording new material in the hopes of further developing her skills and talent as a singer/songwriter, Chelsea is prepared to make her mark on the indie music scene. The tracks thus far combine Chelsea's unique blend of vocal arrangements with Heather Green's tapped in guitar lines to generate an effort bursting at the seams with skill in musicianship and delivery.
From standout edgy tracks like "Canaan Falls," to emotionally driven ballads like "Remnants", the music of Chelsea Edgett appeals to her rapidly expanding fan base of folk rock fans and non-folk fans alike.

Lyrics

Canaan Falls

Written By: Chelsea Edgett

Paradise is a minefield,
Riddled in little explosions.
Her crooked smile, her narrow eyes,
Tiny heart attacks leave contusions
On my skin.

Dinner's served in an empty bowl,
Little white lies do well to hide your hunger.
Rubber band, extended
To the point of breaking - finding an ending,
Force rebounding,
Cuts my chest.

It's El Dorado that came too soon,
Orphalese has left the room,
Premonition granted, damage done.
She ran a circle 'round the sun,
Hid the dark from everyone,
But the moon's awake now,
here, in her world.

You made your moves
On her neck, and her face.
Without a thought, told the tale,
Of her embrace
And all the while, I stood by and held your hand
The water for your wasteland.

It's El Dorado that came too soon
Orphalese has left the room
Premonition granted, damage done.
She ran a circle 'round the sun,
Hid the dark from everyone,
But the moon's awake now,
Here, in her world.

But I'll stay
(We'll see if I can take it)
You say
(Mistakes you made don't have to break it)
Telling me the same old lies,
Don't think you have the heart
To make it right

It's El Dorado that came too soon
Orphalese has left the room
Premonition granted, damage done.
She ran a circle 'round the sun,
Hid the dark from everyone,
But the moon's awake now,
Here, in her world.

If only I had stayed in mine.
If only I'd stayed in mine.
