Bio

Chelsea Nicole Pedro does not remember a time in her life when she was not singing. Born in 1981 in Fallbrook, California, Chelsea took advantage of every musical and theatrical opportunity she could, and began studying voice at the age of 8. She initially made the decision not to pursue music professionally in order to attain some other academic goals. After graduating from Western Washington University in under three years, and becoming a certified elementary school teacher, Chelsea continued to be encouraged by others to sing professionally. By this time she had acquired experience singing in nearly every type of venue, from providing the National Anthem for sporting events, to singing and directing musical programs in churches, competing in solo competitions at the California state level, playing the lead in musicals, and even hosting karaoke!

In 2002, Chelsea married Brendon Pedro, a soldier in the United States Army. They relocated to Wiesbaden, Germany in September of 2003, and Brendon was almost immediately sent to serve in Iraq. As a 22-year old newly-wed alone in a new country, Chelsea found comfort and joy in writing music and encouraging other military families with her talent. In April of 2004, Brendon’s division, the 1st Armored Division, became the first division in decades to be extended in a war zone for longer than a year. This was devastating for Chelsea, but it provided her the opportunity to see a life long dream come true. Out of this disappointment came “Soldier’s Girl”, an inspirational and powerful collection of original music, brought to life by the soaring musical arrangements of collaborator Jon Hemingway, and by Chelsea’s clear, uplifting vocals.

Though she writes from the perspective of a military wife, her music has the power to appeal to listeners of nearly every demographic group. She is currently in Germany, promoting her music and singing in various venues across the military community.
