Determined to be a universal name, Chelsea is no new comer to this industry. Birthed in Jackson, Mississippi, yet a native of Atlanta,Ga, Chelsea has been exploring her musical gifts since age 3. Best known as "The Preacher's Daughter", Chelsea is no stranger to the "stereotype." "Some days," Chelsea says "the stereotype of preacher's daughter's being the worst has actually been true." Growing up in the church, Chelsea has had her share of gospel offers, yet has always felt that her real life stories and trials could best be told in the world of R&B. "There are some things you can say in R&B that people will hear, that other genres wouldn't be able to grasp." Although, it's often said that "pretty girls rock", Chelsea believes that pretty girls actually have it the hardest. At this point in her career, it's no longer about sugar coating her smooth, sultry vocals, but about exposing the truthful ridgedness of her voice and experiences. "It's important to me that this time around, I take the chance to shed some light on what's really been going on and to use the discernment and talents God has given me to say what I need to say and get the message across that this is not a game, nor has it ever been. I want to share my experiences not just for myself but to others. It isn't about me anymore," Chelsea states. Often compared to Monica, sometimes Keyshia Cole, and sometimes even a "Nia Long" look alike, " I just want to be me and I can't say that I'm just this one person."
