Chenault, the husband and wife team of Dave and Beth Chenault, enters the adult contemporary/inspirational market with their new release, Something More, ten radio-worthy tracks produced by Grammy- winning Third Day Producer Paul Ebersold and Grammy-winning Engineer Skidd Mills.

Biography

Contemporary Christian Singers Dave and Beth Chenault chose to perform under their family name Chenault, not only because it is who they are, but because it is what they hope to do. “Chenault” is derived from the word “channel,” Dave explains. “So we thought: What could be more appropriate than using our own name as we strive to be a channel for the Holy Spirit in our lives each day?”
Dave and his wife Beth couldn’t imagine recording separate CD’s and having separate ministries. “Our lives are joined, so we wanted our ministries and our music to be joined together; but we wanted the songs we sang to reflect what we each felt individually,” says Dave. “To pull it all together we got a great producer we both trusted, went into the studio, and what you hear is what we got.”
Grammy-winning Third Day Producer Paul Ebersold produced Chenault’s debut album Something More. The tracks showcase Dave and Beth singing lead on five songs each. The music is honest, direct, and personable with infectious melodic hooks ranging in structure from prayerful simplicity to uplifting praise. Their sound is an extension of both Dave and Beth’s personalities with an innocence and trust in Beth’s delicate voice and a mature confidence in Dave’s powerful vocals that make for an interesting combination of contrasts.
Beth trained her voice singing in a traditional church choir and helped lead her high school choir to three National Championships while receiving honors as the State of Tennessee's "second seat soprano" all three of those years. Dave led praise music for one of the country’s largest church youth groups for eight years while also leading music for hundreds of church camps, retreats and worship meetings locally and across the nation. He became a lead singer for the Christian rock bands Disciple, Yasha, and Masterworks and also toured the world singing with one of the nation’s top evangelists.
It was the disappointment of a heart-wrenching divorce that made Dave feel God couldn’t use him anymore. Dave quit singing for several years before starting his own cover band. A strong songwriter, Dave’s passion to record his own music led to his forming Tydyl Wave, a secular rock band, whose debut single charted nationally on Radio & Records’ Hot AC.
“But, God had another plan for my life,” Dave explains. “Just as Tydyl Wave was heating up, I met my lovely wife Beth. Beth and her family helped me bring my focus back on Christ where it needed to be. We learned first-hand that God is the God of forgiveness and of second chances. That’s what Chenault sings about. We pray our music will, as a reflection of our hearts, serve this purpose. We are just two people who humbly pray God will continue to use our music despite our past mistakes and current struggles with sin every day.”
“We are willing to be transparent to show how God can lift people above their hurtful experiences and bring them to a point of endless gratitude,” Beth adds. “We live in a culture where people make painful mistakes looking for someone or something more to fill a need. We want our music to find those searching for truth and those needing support and strength for their daily challenges. People just like us.”

Lyrics

Thousand Hallelujahs

Written By: Mark Lee & Chad Cates

I will sing
I will sing a brand new song
For you alone are worthy - oh God
I will shout
I will shout across the sea
Use my voice to share -Your glory
And majesty

So everybody join the chorus, bring gifts and celebrate
In awe before Your beauty and the splendor of Your name
Let the heavens and the earth bow before You oh God
You are great and worth a thousand Hallelujahs

Let the earth
Together with the sky
Give a round of applause to the Lord On High
Let the trees
Lift up all their hands
Let every man and creature praise the Son of Man
The Great I Am

You are Lord of all lords
King of all Kings
And we --- are on our knees
We kneel before Your throne
And worship You alone
Because You are --- holy

God Believes In You

Written By: Pierce Pettis

When you start to doubt if you exist
God believes in you
Confounded by the evidence
God believes in you
When your light burns so dim
And when your chances seem so slim
And you swear you don’t believe in them
God believes in you

When you rise up just to fall again
God believes in you
Deserted by your closest friends
God believes in you
When you’re betrayed with a kiss and you turn your cheek to another fist
It does not have to end like this
Cause God believes in you

Oh everything matters if anything matters at all
Everything matters no matter how big
No matter how small
Cause God believes in you
Oh God believes in you

When you’re so ashamed that you could die
God believes in you
When you can’t do right even though you try
God believes in you
Blessed are the ones who grieve
The ones who mourn and the ones who bleed
In sorrow we sow but in joy you’ll reap
God believes in you

Yeah blessed are the ones who grieve
The ones who mourn and the ones who bleed
In sorrow we sow but in joy you’ll reap
God believes in you
Oh God believes in you

You're The One I'm Looking For

Written By: William "Cody" Smith & Skidd Mills

Will You show me You’re not as far away as You seem
A bolt of lightening or a shooting star to give me the strength I need
Oh I’ve become so immune to You and Your touch

Forgive me
Break me
Mold me and Shape me
Into the one You love

Tell me again what would have happened
What could have been
Would You want me to see the agony
Of chasing what I can’t catch
Oh I’ve become so immune to You and Your touch

Chorus

For I have found someway somehow
You’re the one I’m looking for

Will You show me

Loves This Girl

Written By: William "Cody" Smith

Finally found a grace that fits my heart
It hard to find one that welcomes me
Cause I can’t walk the narrow path
If I trip over my own feet

As crazy as it seems
A God that gives me strength
When I fall down in a sinful world
He picks me up and He loves this girl

Even though I have a guiding light
I seem to stumble about what’s inside
Never truly understand
How Your grace could take my hand

Chorus

And as I love You more
I sense a peace in me
It blows my mind that You would say
Father please forgive her

I finally found a grace that fits my heart
It hard to find one that welcomes me

Chorus

Something More

Written By: David Chenault

A blinding cloud darkens the day
But soon the shadows will fade away
And in Your light I’ll understand
Just who I really am

There’s a place to rest my soul
And You will help me find my way home

I know I’m meant for something more
And I’ll discover what’s in store
There is no way I’m ever turning back around
There is something more

What lies ahead is still unclear
But it always brings me back to You
Still someday I’ll understand
Just who I really am

There’s a place to rest your soul
And He will help you find your way home

Chorus

When I find my time is done
I’ll be standing with the Son
Saying look at me, my life has just begun

Chorus

Beyond The Satellites

Written By: Mark Lee & Chad Cates

I’ve seen the ceilings of cathedrals
They seem a mile high
I sat and stared at all the stained glass windows
It’s a beautiful sight
As big as all that is I know

Out beyond the satellites
Far above the starry sky
Your glory reaches farther than my eyes could see
I will lift my hands in praise
Give honor to Your holy name
Neverending Majesty

Sometimes I sit back and wonder
How could a God so big
Make His home inside this heart of mine
It’s hard to believe
But it never stopped amazing me

Chorus

I see You in the sunlight
I see You in the rain
Everywhere I know, I know, I see, I see Your face

Chorus

Something Out Of Nothing

Written By: Andy Gullahorn & Chad Cates

Every time their stomach’s rumbled You sent manna from the sky
Every time they needed water You delivered
In the middle of the desert it’s no small task to perform
To turn a grain of sand into a flowing river

But You made something out of nothing
Like water from a stone
You took the empty sky above us and hung the sun and moon
Out of thin air You created the very breath that gives us life
You made something out of nothing

Every time that people gathered
You already figured out how to meet them where they were with what they needed
Like when the thousands were surrounding with a few fish and some bread
No one ever thought You’d have enough to feed them

Chorus

Every time I am reminded of the way I used to be
It’s clear to see the work You did in me

Chorus

You made something out of nothing
Like water from a stone
You took the empty sky above us and hung the sun and moon
I’m forever changing in Your perfect mystery
You made something out of nothing
You made something out of nothing in me

Beginning Of The End

Written By: Andy Gullahorn & Sandra McCraken

Just a few hours left
It could’ve been worse
At least it’s all out on the table here between
Who I really am
And who you thought I was
Yeah there’s freedom but the taste is bitter sweet

When you’re hungry
For forgiveness

The truth comes like a thief
When the ceiling caves in
Such a sweet relief - the beginning of the end

You have to tear it apart
To get the pieces to mend
Strange place to start - the beginning of the end

So go ahead and cry
Get it all out
Take whatever you need to muster up the strength
To look me in the eye
And dig deep down
Far enough into the fire to find the place

Where we started
Do you remember

Chorus

If you’re thinking
It’s worth saving
You have to tear it apart
Strange place to start

Chorus

Give Me Grace

Written By: Andy Gullahorn

The last time I was here
I swore that I would change
I said only a fool
Would make the same mistakes
Well being the fool I am
I’m back again

I’ve got no good excuse
I’m out of things to say
I’m starting to believe
I’ll always be this way
My only hope inside
Is that You would hear my cry

Give me grace for when I can’t stop falling
Give me strength to help me get back up again
Give me faith without proof
Give me wisdom and truth
Give me You

I know I’ve got a choice
But I don’t want to choose
Cause I’ve tried that before
And I know I stand to lose
I cannot control
These failings on my own

Chorus

Break

Chorus

Never Be Another You

Written By: Mark Lee & Wendy Wills

Winter melts into the Spring
Summer brings an offering
Autumn leaves of red and gold
Fade again in Winter’s cold
What has been will be again
Until the circle finds an end
But this one thing I hold onto
There will never be another you

I have chased a thousand winds
Trying to find where love begins
Like a child I’ve played with fire
To satisfy my own desires
What has been will be again
Until the circle finds an end
But this one thing I hold onto
There will never be another you

There’s a bridge that will not burn
There’s a tide that will not turn
A mountain that will never move
But some things only grace can prove
What has been will be again
Until the circle finds an end
But this one thing I hold onto
There will never be another you
