Bio

Most choose not to live beyond a dream; the childhood need for an adventurous future. We grow out of our cardboard spaceships, and lose the desire to become astronauts. It’s much easier, and much more accepting to simply be a grown up. We leave the dreams behind us, settle down with the normal, and envy those who choose to turn their dreams into a reality. In Cherina and Davina’s world, settling down is never an option.

The dream was alive and shining when the identical twins first stepped foot on the open area of carpet in their living room, harmonizing their favorite songs before an audience of enthusiastic family members. It was that moment, at the age of 8, when the girls discovered the winding road they were destined to travel. Music became their lives, and with the support of their parents, Cherina and Davina Clements began writing songs that would eventually take them from their front room performances to Toronto venues, performing live in front of hundreds.

In search of inspiration, the Brantford-born, Toronto raised duo dove head first into their mother’s eclectic music collection, spending entire nights listening to Bob Marley, Fleetwood Mac and Jann Arden. Angst would inevitably find them in their teenage years through the intensity of Nirvana, as well as their major influence, The Pixies. In 2010, they entered the studio for the first time to record their debut EP, Beat Drops, for URBNET Records. The March 2011 release introduced the sisters to a brand new world: a world far away from the adolescent karaoke, playfully crooned in the comfort of their home.

February 14, 2013 marks the release of their new single, Giving In. A brilliant mixture of introspective lyrics, beautiful harmonies and a powerful chorus delivered with a unique style that separates Cherina and Davina from the rest. The James Pew produced opus is 4 minutes of honesty and raw emotion; a snapshot of what the girls have been going through over the past couple of years.
