Cherokee the Singer/Songwriter/Producer/Model is from Brooklyn New York. Cherokee stepped on the music scene in 1999 with her duet album I Love You...Me

At the time Cherokee was signed to RCA records. The record never reached the mass audience due to lack of marketing and promotion. However Cherokee's PR was AMAZING. She graced the cover of Time Out NY @ Jet Magazine. Cherokee was also in Vogue, Essence, Rolling Stone, Billboard, The NY Times, Honey, Vibe, Esquire and many many others. She performed on Soul Train and Motown Live along with Sheila E.

Cherokee was sponsored by POLO Jeans and did a mini tour that was incredible. Cherokee also did a GAP campaign which lead to Huge billboards plastered all over 10 states. She also had a GAP commercial that ran nationally for a few months.

Cherokee toured overseas and was a knockout.
She opened for Lauryn Hill in Amsterdam and tore down the house. Despite all of the hoopla her label RCA failed to market amd promote the record properly.

In 2000-2001 she recorded a phenomenal sophomore record "Soul Parade". After the completion of the record RCA shut down their Black Division and Cherokee was picked up by ARISTA Records still under the BMG system.

Critics gave Soul Parade great reviews. She had many guest appearances such as OUTKAST, BILAL, JILL SCOTT, RASAAN PATTERSON, ANTHONY HAMILTON,
FLOETRY AND MUSIQ. The record never dropped but has been bootlegged all around the world. Fans have wondered where Cherokee has been since then.

Well...she took a long break from the music industry to regroup and figure out her next move. Now that Cherokee has a better perspective on the industry game, she is ready to hit the stage again. Cherokee has revamped her sound into a soul/HipHop/R&B thang and is doing it her way. Stay tuned and keep your ears open for the one and only...Cherokee. Don't sleep on a Brooklynite.
