Bio

Formed In Seoul, South Korea in the fall of 2005, Chester Story and the Glory started out as a group of Canadians jamming on old country and bluegrass covers. Sunday afternoon jams in the living room turned into studio jams, and original compositions were soon to follow. Chester Story and the Glory became local favourites of ex-pats and Koreans alike in the Seoul area. The Glory quickly established themselves as the premier live act to see, playing most nights to full houses with standing room only. After gigging together in and around Seoul, and a very successful summer music festival, an album of original country/rock was recorded.
Chester Story and the Glory’s music is an energetic blend of country, rock and bluegrass. They’ve been compared to Wilco, and The Black Crowes, but have a sound all their own. Vocal harmonies, piano, slide guitar, and banjo combine to form a blend of exciting country-flavoured rock. Once you’ve heard them, you won’t soon forget them.
Chester Story and the Glory decided to take their show on the road in 2007. Boarding a plane from Seoul’s Incheon airport, the band headed south to Australia. The tour began in Melbourne, and continued up the coast. Radio and newspaper interviews along the way created a groundswell of interest in the band culminating with a nine day, twenty-one show marathon at the Tamworth Country Music Festival. Chester Story and the Glory were chosen as one of the 'top new bands' at the Tamworth festival. They were also choosen as one of the top five out of more than three hundred bands in a street performance competition. Performances at Tamworth were described as “electrifying”, “energetic”, and “must see”. The band was quickly re-booked for the 2008 festival.
