Chestnut Grove… A folkin' blues rock band from Pennsyltucky possessing a
classic familiar sound that has never been heard. the band members are from Perkiomenville. Located off the beaten path of the famous “Route
73” on the outskirt hills of Philadelphia. Chestnut Grove can sound as
classic as Little Richard, as Modern as Mumford and Son's. Rising out of the underground scene of Philly like Dr. Dog, Hoots & Hellmouth, and The Districts. Chestnut Grove is set to release there Full Length Debut "Perkiomenville" June 2015. setting out on tour.( Jibberjazz Productions).
The band released their self-produced
EP "Old Tin Road" in May of 2013. The record features original songs
like "Danger Man," all under Perkiomen Productions which captures a
natural rhythm and blues sound and mindful lyrical balance. Songs like
"Johnny Guitar" and "Slide Tide" are more 60's like psychedelic
rock songs layered with fuzzy guitar riffs and uncanny breakdowns.
In 2013 and 2014 the
band performed at music festivals like, Spring
Gulch Folk Festival, Opple Topple, Mountain Folk and Roots Festival (JibberJazzproductions), Mad Summer Meltdown
and Boogie in The Bungalow just to name a few and during the winters the band
grinds through bars and theaters in the Tri State area. With bands like The
Felice Brothers , The Toy Soldiers, Hoots and Hellmouth Flux Capacitor,
Mainland, Dumpstaphunk, The Ryan Montbleau Band, Yarn, Aqueous, The Dirk Quinn
Band, The Tumbling Bones and many many more. The band is setting up a regional
tour for 2015.The bands sophomore EP
"Outside the Show" was released March 28th 2014 at Chaplin's in
Spring City, Pennsylvania.
The band recorded
their first full length record “Perkiomenville” over the summer with Viking
Sound Productions, it is set to be released In Summer 2015. The band performed
at World Café Live on December 21st with Philly Natives High Kick.
With the growth of regional touring and Radio success makes Chestnut Grove eager
to start the year 2015 now working with Jibber Jazz Productions and their own
Perkiomen Productions. Tune in to 88.5 and other Philly radio stations to
request that “classic familiar sound” and listen to Chestnut Grove. All music
