Bio

Chet Wild is a Los Angeles-based comedian by way of Buffalo, NY. Much of his material comes from his days of being a Resident Assistant / Residence Hall Director, writing jokes around the transitioning from life in the dorms (or "residence halls" if your campus refers to that as the "dirty d-word"),creative ways to use your degree when you can't find the job you want, and shifting from college to the real world. He also shares his not-so-common college experiences, including the #1 roommate problem he had to deal with (it's not what you think) and how volunteering for a sex ed sketch at freshman orientation will follow you around for the rest of your college career.

He blends self-deprecating humor with witty crowd interaction, building a relationship with the audience that will leave your students with something to talk about.

When not on stage, Chet is a staff writer for 'Top Story! Weekly' at iO West, training with The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, co-hosting The Dunk Tank Podcast, and explaining to his parents why he doesn't really use his Masters degree.

CREATIVITY AND LEADERSHIP WORKSHOPS

Chet holds an MS in Creative Studies from the International Center for Studies in Creativity at the State University of New York, College at Buffalo (for those of you impressed by long titles). In addition to stand-up shows, Chet offers creativity and leadership workshops, great for: RA training, student leadership programs, students in the performing arts, and anyone interested in further development in the areas of creativity and leadership. Workshops are not a comedy show (though that doesn't mean they aren't fun), and workshops can be tailored to meet student needs dependent upon the target audience and student learning outcomes desired.

Topics include:
-Approaches to "intelligent self-leadership"
-Breaking through creative blocks
-Creating habits to match desires
-Implementing creative problem solving in everyday life
-Overcoming internal barriers and getting out of your own way

Chet spent most of his undergraduate career as an over-involved student leader followed by 5 years as a Student Affairs professional as Residence Hall Director, Adjunct Lecturer, and Leadership Coordinator. Chet's resume includes presentations at RA and  Student Affairs conferences, leadership programs, and most recently he had the honor of emceeing a TEDx conference! Forever an RA at heart, these workshops are his way of staying connected to his passion for higher education while pursuing his dream job of professional comedian.
