Born and raised in Norfolk, VA, Chevy (Chevis (sh'veese))-- began singing with gospel family group 'The Chavis Family & the 4th Generation' at age 5. - " ...pushing us out there to sing in front of the church early was the norm...every one of us was measured IMMEDIATELY for that red & black uniform ...lol...our parents couldn't wait !!!' Chevy would soon go from the choir stand to football stands with the school band as featured vocalist during half-time, later featured on the 'courts' as 'that national anthem girl', and then on to theater, concerts, writing for independent choirs, and fronted some of Virginia's top performing bands...facilitating her steady rise on the music scene. Her peers would later shower her with acclaim for her energetic live performances.

Taking it to the next level, Chevy, decided to relocate to Atlanta ---> next stop ---> New York. After being tricked by a friend at an open mic, 'come with me...I promise I won't force you to sing...' He lied. However, Chevy won the crowd at Chaz & Wilsons and also got the attention of producers which led to recording sessions for Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Jessica Simpson, and Thalia to name a few. Chevy would soon tour worldwide with such artists as Beyonce, Chaka Khan, Mary J Blige & Faith Evans. Chevy's creative nature and love for not just funk, hard rock & soul but also ol' school gospel, r&b classics as well as soulful jazz greats has allowed her to transcend her own musical talents....brewing a soul-stirring broth worth tasting.
