Bio
With a crowd-pleasing presentation and an impressive repertoire of more than 2000 songs spanning traditional pop, jazz, blues, swing, latin, and standards, Peter Oprisko is considered by many to be the best performer of traditional adult pop standards in the country today, and with each engagement, he and his musicians conscientiously strive to reaffirm that reputation.
Indeed, legendary Grammy-winning jazz pianist Ramsey Lewis has called Peter the "Rolls Royce" of singers today, and Peter's New Year's Eve opening for the Beach Boys at MGM's Beau Rivage Resort and Casino in Biloxi drew high acclaim.
In addition to performing 300+ engagements annually for corporate clients, casinos, weddings, and other venues and occasions nationwide, Peter is in his 5th year as an official entertainer for the public and private events of the Chicago White Sox, the Chicago Bulls, and NASCAR, and has become a popular performer on the college concert and festival circuits.
Peter prides himself on being able to deliver the kind of first-rate musical entertainment that discerning clientele and audiences expect, demand, and deserve, and he is quite adaptable and amenable to working within budgetary constraints, so please feel free to inquire about different accompaniment options(DUO, TRIO, QUARTET, etc).
In addition to his meeting the demands of his busy touring/performance schedule, Peter is a voting member of NARAS and ASCAP and he is President of Retropolis Records for which he writes and records prolifically.
During the holiday season of 2008, Peter's recording of "Jingle Bells" was picked up by Paramount Studios and featured in the December 16th episode of the long-running hit CBS series "NCIS" starring Mark Harmon.
